Strange, I never end up on this site...and I browse a lot. I checked the thermostat too, it behaves strange. Opens at 80-90 deg, but start to close at 40 deg , this is quite a big hysteresis , which maybe explains, why my Mog don\t want to heat up upon 40-50 deg.

I'm divided on new project opportunity, should I

-covert to electric fan
-rework water system hoses and thermostat
-relocate expansion tank...

I really don't like the current setup, where water expansion tank is next to you face in the cabin. I know in the 50's, safety was not think , but....

...anyway the people back than were way cooler and crazier

Slowly I work out to my plan. Till now I was able to adapt thermostat body of OM 615...2.4D and now I'm working to convert to all accessories (water pump and alternator) to mehrspurig Gurt. Unfortunately I can't find a place for hydraulic power steering pump...I start to consider EPS from car...it will be more easier...I think...but often I'm wrong :D unimog belts.jpgunimog belts 2.jpg

Which EPS did you used?

I have bad experience with Renault Clio EPS on my Mega Turbo Golf 2 and device bought from...I think is one Portugiese guy. But it behaves strange.

I aways want to to do thinks with old parts (save the planet and recycle), so for the crank pulley I try to use an old Audi failed damper crank . I've made central hub from Alu and plan to hot press the Audi pulley. I heat the pulley at 250 deg (there was 0,15 mm oversize diameter on hub)...and it didn't press to the end, so I hammer it well...and the pulley cracked :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil:

So good bay Mehrspurig Gurt and back to the classic Gurt. And in the process I hammer my finger well too.
